Stradivarius, the popular young fashion chain belonging to the giant Inditex, has taken a bold step by opening its largest store in the world in the heart of Barcelona.
The location chosen for this commercial feat is the iconic Passeig de Gràcia, a commercial axis where internationally renowned luxury brands converge.
Number 3 Passeig de Gràcia now houses the Stradivarius flagship store, a space covering an impressive total of 1,930 square meters distributed over two floors.
This store is in the company of other Inditex brands such as Zara, Bershka and Massimo Dutti, creating an impressive fashion enclave in Barcelona.
Stradivarius opens its world’s largest store in Barcelona
This space is located in a modernist building that until 1999 was the headquarters of the Central Bank. Since then, it has been completely renovated and redesigned to house the Stradivarius flagship store, which is dedicated exclusively to women’s fashion.
This department store is the only Inditex store that maintains an exclusive focus on women’s fashion.
But what makes this store truly special is its focus on technology and customer experience. Stradivarius has implemented several technological features to make shopping more immersive and seamless.
These include a self-checkout area with 14 checkouts, a “Click&Collect” area designed for exchanges and returns, as well as pickup of orders placed online, and a section where customers can check the inventory of each garment.
Innovation does not stop here. Stradivarius has also installed containers so that people can donate garments they no longer wear, thus giving them a second life.
This initiative is carried out in collaboration with Cáritas, an organization with which Stradivarius has been working since 2007 in several used clothing collection projects.
Architectural aesthetics and conservation
The storefront has been carefully integrated into the original aesthetics of the building dating back to 1919. The interior design maintains original architectural elements, such as floor slabs and structures, and restores the existing brick in the entrance area.
The store also has a double entrance to Passeig de Gràcia, which facilitates access for visitors.
In the basement of the store, Stradivarius has restored the former bank vault for use as an exchange, returns and parcel pick-up area.
Also located here is the “self drop off”, a self return machine for packages purchased online, as well as testers and the “Fragrance Lab”, an interactive space dedicated to the perfume line.
The opening of this store in Barcelona means the closure of the store that Stradivarius operated in the same stretch of Passeig de Gràcia, at number 11, since 2010.
