La Vila de Gràcia is getting ready to dazzle once again with its Festa Major of the year 2025. From August 15 to 21, this picturesque neighborhood of Barcelona will be the epicenter of a whirlwind of colorful activities where culture, music and, above all, coexistence will be the protagonists. This year there are some novelties, but as always, the enthusiasm and creativity of the neighborhood promises to delight residents and visitors alike.
A calendar full of activities
The Fiesta Mayor does not disappoint with the number of events scheduled. There will be more than a hundred for all tastes, from vibrant concerts to popular culture shows and interactive workshops. La Vila will be transformed with 23 decorated streets that will compete not only for the admiration of the public, but also for the coveted recognition that will be awarded on Tuesday, August 19. The choice of a day other than the weekend for the awards ceremony seeks to avoid crowds and make the event a more comfortable experience for everyone.
The quiet night, a respite in the midst of the hustle and bustle.
One of the most celebrated novelties in the last edition was the so-called “quiet night”, a concept that is consolidated in 2025. Although it may seem contradictory for a festival of such magnitude, this night is characterized by offering activities of low sound intensity. Instead of explosive concerts, the streets will be filled with soft melodies and serene events on the night of August 18, allowing attendees to enjoy a more relaxed evening.
A safe space free of violence
The measures to guarantee a safe and violence-free party are firm and welcome. The purple point, located in the Plaza de la Revolución, will be open once again. This space provides advice and support to prevent and deal with situations of macho and LGTBI-phobic violence. In addition, security will be reinforced with a police force that includes the Guardia Urbana and the Mossos d’Esquadra. Attendees will also find safe itineraries thanks to the coordinated work of the police forces.
Mobility as a priority
Visiting the Festa Major de Gràcia is an experience that should be lived to the fullest. Therefore, everyone is encouraged to use public transport as a means of arrival. The Barcelona metro will offer uninterrupted service from Friday August 15 until Sunday August 17, ensuring that everyone can arrive and move around efficiently and safely. To improve circulation, some streets will have auxiliary one-way devices, facilitating access and mobility.
Sound Celebration: Ràdio Gràcia and the diversity of its programming
Ràdio Gràcia leaves the studio to join the celebration in a very special way. The announcers will broadcast live from several squares in the Vila; their programs, loaded with humor, sports and garnishes, will feature a thematic axis each day. Local culture will vibrate through their microphones, with live performances by local artists. Outdoor spaces such as Villa, Norte, Pueblo Gitano and many others will be transformed into stages for this radio show.
Craftsmanship in the poster and the opening speech
This year, the poster that will represent the Fiesta Mayor is a piece of art created by illustrator Manuela Serrat i Crehuet. It will undoubtedly stir the spirit of celebration among the community. And to officially kick off, the proclamation will be read by Maria Garganté, art historian and renowned writer. Her talk, on August 14, from the District’s balcony, will mark the formal start of the festivities.
In short, the Festa Major de Gràcia 2025 not only promises to be a riot of color and tradition, but also a reflection of the neighborhood’s commitment to peaceful and inclusive coexistence. One more proof that Barcelona knows how to celebrate in style, taking care of the details that make this event unforgettable every year.
