From June 6 to 9, 2024, Barcelona’s Plaza de Cataluña will become the epicenter of gastronomy with the celebration of Tast a la Rambla.

This festival, which celebrates its tenth anniversary, brings together 36 of the best restaurants and pastry shops in the city, offering attendees the opportunity to taste a variety of tapas and sweets in one place.

This year will also see the inauguration of the Tast a la Rambla Award, a new distinction that will recognize the best culinary proposals of the event.

Tast a la Rambla: an established festival on the gastronomic calendar

Tast a la Rambla has established itself as an unmissable event for lovers of good food. Organized by the gastronomic communication group GSR and the Association of Friends, Neighbors and Merchants of La Rambla, the event has become very popular and has become a showcase for the best gastronomy in Barcelona.

This year, the festival will be held for the second consecutive year in Plaza de Cataluña, due to the works in the Rambla de Santa Mònica.

In this edition, 30 restaurants and 6 pastry shops are participating in the festival, offering a wide range of tapas representing both creative and traditional Barcelona cuisine. Featured restaurants include Les Croquetes de Nandu Jubany, Tapas 24, Casa Amàlia 1950, Casa Guinart, La Pau, Frankie Gallo Cha Cha Cha, and many more.

Options for those with a sweet tooth include the exquisite creations of L’Atelier, Pastelería Mervier Canal, Pastisseria Escribà, Sant Croi, Pastisseria Ochiai, and Oriol Balaguer.

In addition, this year the festival will have the participation of representatives of the gastronomy of Lanzarote and Andorra, thus expanding the culinary offerings and providing attendees with an even more diverse gastronomic experience.

Hours and location

Tast a la Rambla will open its doors on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at 12:00 noon and close at 10:00 pm. On Friday and Saturday, the hours will be extended until midnight, while on Sunday, June 9, the hours will be from 12:00 to 22:00. The location in Plaza de Cataluña offers a large and accessible space, ideal to accommodate the many visitors expected during the four days of the event.

An anniversary with novelties at Tast a la Rambla

To celebrate its tenth anniversary, Tast a la Rambla has introduced the Tast a la Rambla Award, which will recognize the best tapas and sweets of the festival. This new award seeks to highlight the creativity and quality of the culinary proposals, encouraging participants to offer the best of their cuisine.

Another novelty of this edition is the inclusion of representative dishes from the 12 countries that will participate in the America’s Cup sailing competition, which will be held soon in Barcelona.
